45 "lc" bullets in 45 acp. Anybody else?

Some time ago I was searching for a good "do all" round for my collection of 45 acp handguns. Since I was shooting revolvers with moon clips as well as 1911's I needed something that would not catch on the cyl edges like a SWC might. Also since I was punching my fair share of paper, I wanted something that made a clearer hole in the target than a LRN. Eventually, I experimented with 200gr RNFP bullets marketed to cowboy action shooters. 2K rounds latter, I have to say (for me) it was an experiment worth while. These rounds seem to do it all. They load flawlessly in all my guns, produce a pronounced hole in the target, and shoot flat and accurately. Am I missing something here? IS there something unique to this style bullet that makes it less desirable for the ACP? Anybody else try them ? Just curious.

I just got a box (500) from Dillon that are marked 45LC. They're 200g RN-FP and .452 diameter. I ordered them for 45ACP, or so I thought. I'm glad you asked that question. I'll be reading the replies.

They usually work fine, just look a little funny. The first time I saw them loaded for an auto, they surprised me by feeding smoothly.

Ya mean like this;?

I use this a LOT in my 45 auto, it is my go-to bullet for 45 acp. Makes clean holes, feeds flawlessly and is very accurate.

Surely you did not mean 2000K...that is 2 million rounds!!!

as long as the diameter is the same for the regular 45 ACP bullets you should be fine. I use 200g in my reloads along with 185. im actually almost out of 185

My 1911 loves 'em, especially over Titegroup. Most accurate bullet I have found for it so far.

Doh!!

Sugars must have been low that would be 2K or 2000 not both ;-)

I'm glad to know I'm not alone. I KNOW there are no problems but am just curious why bullet manufacturers would specify this bullet for LC and not ACP. I think they do themselves and their customers a dis-service.
