For just going out shooting my Henry Golden Boy with my Marlin model 60 a close second.

That's a tough question. I love to go shooting with the ARs, and I really enjoy my CZ75B as well... but if I only had one, and one ever... I would probably do an M1 Garand.

When I just want to have a fun time plinking away?

Well, it might be my Remington 521-T .22 bolt action.

Or it might be my No. 1 Mk III Lee-Enfield

Or it might be my AR-15.

Those are the ones I'd be most inclined to pick for an off-the-cuff shooting session.

My Savage 23B would also be on that list, but I don't yet reload for it and .25-20 ammo is just INSANELY expensive right now.

I agree with the OP, AR and 10/22. I have 5 of each, and they are always a lot of fun. More specifically, my CMMG MK9T AR carbine in 9mm, and my 10/22 Takedown with Volquartsen cantilever barrel and Mueller 4.5~14x40.

At the present moment: My scoped CZ527 carbine, in 7.62x39.

My favorite 22 rifles: Kimber Classic bolt gun, bull barrel BSA Martini Henry single shot and my Marlin 39A Centennial lever action.

Hands down, my 10-22 TD. I always bring it with me when I go to visit my parents - they have enough property out in the boonies that we can wander out and take turns shooting "targets of opportunity." If I'm going bunny hunting, I'll use my Marlin 795 with a fixed 4x scope, but for just fun shooting, there is something about the 10-22 that just seems more enjoyable.

It used to be my Yugo SKS, but my newly purchased Henry 22 Lever may win me over this weekend at the range. I havent shot it yet but something tells me its going to give me a lever action bug. I smell a 30-30 or .44 in my future...

I don't have a favorite. I don't really understand the idea of a favorite. I guess it would depend on what I'm gonna shoot at at a particular time. I could be a one of 3 10/22s, a Henry, a CZ, etc. No way to pick a favorite.

My favorite rifle . . . . . . . . My answer is situational in that I have many rifles and my favorites for a given situation are:

Semi-Auto Plinking: Ruger Mini-14

Plinking or Light Hunting Leverguns: Rossi 357mag carbine

300 yd Plinking Leverguns: Rossi 357mag rifle

400+ yd Apple Shooter: RRA Scoped A4

Battle Rifle: M14 (however, because I can't own one, the M1A)

Hunting Rifle: Winchester 88 in .308

For me it's a tossup between my Henry Big Boy Steel .41mag and my AR 7.62x39. For fun I'd give the nod to the Henry, but for anything more serious the AR fits the bill.

It depends on my mood that can include all of my guns.

If I'm feeling cowboyish, it's my lever action rifle and single action revolver.

If I'm feeling militaryish, it's my AR15 and my 1911.

If I'm feeling policeish, it's my 38 Special revolver, pump shotgun and/or my plastic 9mm semi-auto that resembles a Glock.

My favorite semi auto plinking rifle is a franken AR with a PSA midlength upper on a Grizzly lower. My favorite all around plinker is a CZ452 American in .22lr.

Hey Steve,

How much does the wood furniture AR weigh?

The Garand I just bought is a ton of fun, but my M1A standard is better in every way. I just love everything about the gun except the price of ammo.

Suppressed SBR AR in .300blk, with a T-2 on top.
TONS of fun in the 0-100m range.

Most fun--300BO pistol is definitely at the top of my list--along with my 16" 44 mag rossi carbine.

One of my 300blk carbines. Choices are red dot or irons.

HistoryJunky expressed my perspective very well. He "stole my thunder", no pun intended.

Other than the Yugo M59 SKS, among my AKs, probably the newest, the Hungarian 'TGI' AMD-65. The muzzle brake reduces muzzle climb in case a fairly quick six-rd. string is wanted.

The 3.5" is my #1 and the 6.0" is my #2. Both are PacLite barrels with Volquartsen 1911 style Target frames. Light pipe front sights and Ruger white outline rear sight blades in the OEM sight base.
Rifle counter part is a 10/22 receiver with a TacSol 16" barrel, Black Max action tune by Hornet, Kidd bolt and charging handle. Tech Sights apperture sights all mounted in a Blackhawk Knox Axiom stock fitted with a Magpul CTR buttstock.

Favorite long gun

If I disregard the sentiment of a rifle I've shot most deer with in the last few decades and the M1 Garand, also for respect and sentiment then.....

It would be a 60s Marlin 336 30-30 "Texan" with the straight lever and butt stock. 20 inch barrel. Walnut.

It has an XS peep rear sight (ghost ring) and post front.

Favorite short gun- Colt 1911 A1 .45ACP
