Stock for savage

My wife and I are building a stock for our savage flp 10 completely from scratch. We ordred a piece of maple and have most of the necssary tools. Where were having problems is in peripherals....I know there are a few online manuals but pc's and sawdust dont mix well. Just want a book ' any sugestions?

There are a number of classic books on the subject. Some are out of print though. Do a search on stock inletting. I think there was a thread with a lot of book recommendations within the last couple months or so.

Well, I just took my own advice, but didn't turn up the thread. Someone will chime back in. I haven't bought a Gun Digest for a number of years, but it used to have a book list that included books on stock making. Unfortunately custom stock making is not as commonly done as it once was.
