M1 Garand ejecting clip early.
I've replaced the op rod spring and the clip latch spring with new ones from Orion 7 and it still happens. There isn't a certain round that it happens, it could be anywhere from rounds 3-7 and it doesn't happen every time. I'm using Aggressive Engineering clips. Suggestions?

Are you sure that the clip latch itself isn't damaged, or under spec?

The tip that engages the clip itself does show some wear on it. However, when the rifle spits out the clip early the bolt is latched back so I thought it may be a timing issue.

In a correctly timed M1, the bolt should remain latched until the clip is fully inserted down into the well. If the bolt tries to close before that then there could be a problem with the follower rod, op-rod catch and accelerator. Ejecting a clip early has similar causes.

I had the same problem. Although I could not detect any wear on the clip latch, I swapped it out and it never happened again. It is an easy part to change.

When inserting a full clip the Op Rod doesn't release until the clip "clicks" into place. While I'm sitting here typing this out this makes my mind think that it could be the Clip Latch itself is worn but then again the Op Rod is held open like it should when it ejects a clip except that it will still have 2-5 rounds left in it.

On a side note, I have been searching for parts for my M1 and have stumbled upon Stardard Parts LLC and have found their prices blow away both Fulton Armory and Orion 7. Any word on this particular seller?

Thanks! I guess I'm just gonna start looking at parts and see if any look a bit too worn and start ordering and swapping.

Had to check a reference and found that the the Acelerator is the most likely suspect for dumping a clip early. The next would be a worn or bent follower rod.
