.357mag, 44 mag and 30 06 load data info?
Hi, I had to do it and go buy come copper bullets from barns. I didtnt want to but i figured I better do it now. anyways i went to there site for load information and i dont show them using the same powder that i do. so, if you guys have any suggestion for h110 for both .357 mag 140 gr and 44 mag 225gr both are barns xpb bullets that would be great. oh, thats right I had to buy .30 bullets too for my 30 06. okay i bought 168gr bt tsx bullets because cabela's was out of the hornady. For the 30 06 i have imr 4350 powder for it. im just looking for something decent for these rounds. I dont want to experiment too much because I bought a box for each so I dont have a lot of rounds to spare and i really dont want to buy barns bullets anyways. thx for the info robert

Solids typically have higher start pressures than conventional construction, so charges often need to be reduced with them. The less dense copper also makes them longer so they need faster barrel twist than the same bullet weight does in jacket and core construction.
If someone here owns the Barnes load databook, perhaps they can give you a precise idea. Otherwise, I would call Barnes and just ask?

Here is what is published in my Loaddata site, gleaned from various sources for your bullets using h110:
44 mag 225 gr Barnes XPB Hodgdon H-110 21.5 gr 1,402 fps 357 mag 140 gr Barnes XPB Hodgdon H-110 15.5 gr 1,245 fps 357 mag 140 gr Barnes XPB Hodgdon H-110 16.0 gr 1,260 fps (Handloader Issue #244 - December, 2006) I couldn't find data for the TSX bullet, but these should get you started on the 30-06 30-06 168 gr Barnes XLC BT IMR IMR-4350 55.5 gr 2,861 fps 30-06 168 gr Barnes XLC BT IMR IMR-4350 59.5 gr 3,064 fps (max load) (from Barnes manual #3) |
