Interesting article

The Oct. 20 issue of Shotgun News has a very good article by Reid Coffield entitled "101 Gunsmithing Projects on One Gun". The author suggests that you don't need "a pile of junkers" to learn to do things like installing sights, cutting and crowning barrels, or sporterizing stocks. While the article does not describe in detail every project, it does give the reader many good (101) ideas.

I found it to be very inspiring. Anyone have an old Turkish mauser for sale?

turkish mauser

Sir;
Those Turkish Mausers are pretty nice actions. I used them to build 338-06s, 416 Taylors, 9.3X62 and 9.3X64 rifles!. I've found the actions well heat treated and the smaller .980X12 barrel thread doesn't bother me one bit.
I just turn off the handguard projection on the ring and end up with about the same length as a VZ24! They really work great.
