Dove tail to weaver

I just ordered these
http://www.joeboboutfitters.com/B_Sq...quare17025.htm
For my savage since my scope keeps slipping
And was thinking of drilling a vertical hole into it and tapping it for a screw and then drill 1/16th inch or more into the dovetail rail and use it as a set screw to prevent slippage. Any input ? I'd prefer to do this without taking the gun apart

They clamp very hard into rimfire receiver grooves - I've NEVER had one move.

I'd mount/try B-4 going deeper.

BTW - you DO know that the adaptors raise the line-of-sight quite a bit, right ?

I use the Burris Signature rimfire rings and have never had a problem, highly recommend them.
