Ruger 204 accuracy question
I m shooting a Howa 204 caliber. When I shoot a 3 shot grp of the bench 2 holes wii be touching at poi and the 3rd always 3/4 to 1 inch out from the other two. It does this with both factory and handloads. Any suggestions. However, overall the grp stays at an inch and half.

It sounds like the barrel might be heating up and moving.
Do you know if the flyer shot is always the THIRD shot of the string?

Mike is probably on track to the problem. How long are you waiting between shots?
Some guns like a barrel that is completely free floating forward of the action. Some like a light touch at the front end of the stock.

That's another reason a score/data book is necessary.
Is it always the third bullet? Is it still the third bullet when you shoot a five shot group? When did it start? Do you single load? Sometimes we seem to want to blame the gun instead of taking the blame ourselves.
