Redding Competition Seating Dies

Hi There

I've got Redding Competition seating dies for both my Calibres (223/243)

I tried to adjust the set screw in the top of the micrometer in order to "zero" it , and unfortunately this has resulted in the micrometer becoming totally loose in certain ranges - to the point where it will not hold its setting

What .. if anything have I done wrong here ??

Has anyone else experienced this and know what can be done about this ?

Tim

Redding puts an insert in with the dies and advises you to call if you have a problem. I'd suggest you call them, they'll give you the correct answer instead of twenty guesses.

The set screw just moves up and down inside the micrometer head. You can unscrew the micrometer portion of the seating die and see what is happening. The set screw has no impact on the tightness or looseness of the micrometer. It just changes the reference point.

I have found Redding technical support to be easy to reach and very knowledgeable on their products.
