Anyone Still use the Sig p250?

Just wondering...this has been my EDC for two years and I really like it; none of my friends or associates do? Any love for ir out there?

The P250 gets no love from speedster gamers or those with poor trigger control, but lots of love from people who like super-capacity DAO revolvers.

Yes! To me, it’s a DA revolver with higher capacity, better ergonomics, and superb factory trigger (I wish all my revolvers had factory DA trigger this good) that can change calibers and frames. What’s not to like?

I had one, it's definitely a good gun. My issue was not accuracy or reliability, both of those were excellent, my issue was speed. If I would have been willing to put in the time I have no doubt that I would have overcome that issue. The same way I once did with a Beretta 92D which also had a long smooth trigger. But the P320 came out before I did and I decided just to jump over from the P250 to the P320 instead.

I have had a Sig P250 for 8 years now. I have it in both 9mm and also in a 45 ACP "Twosum" caliber conversion kit. Of the two calibers, I greatly prefer the 9mm version. For me, the 45 ACP recoil with this light gun is too great for reliable follow-up shots.

The DAO trigger IS a bit different from my other guns, but smooth, once you get the hang of it.

I think the P250 is a quality, well-made gun. I've had no problems with mine so far and plan to keep it.

Sorry, I just couldn't get past the trigger and the very difficult to move take down lever.

I have only handled them and dry fired them. While I am generally not a fan of DAO pistols, I was very impressed with the P250. Someday I may own one.

Yeah, I got a couple of 'em. Love the concept. Trigger is nice (to me) because I shoot revolvers. The grip, barrel, & mags interchange with the P320. Nothing much to dislike - EXCEPT the stupid non-standard REAR SIGHT. DUMB AS A BOX OF ROCKS.

I couldn't get used to the trigger in mine, didn't like it at all and sold it a few months after I bought it.

It’s true - the rear sights are not the standard P-series type. I blacked out the rear on my P250’s (yes, I have several).

My FiL still likes his a lot. He grew up with revolvers, so the trigger seems normal to him.

I love all four of mine. Like others have posted, if you grew up with revolvers, you probably love the DAO of the P250.

I carried a Charter Arms Off Duty DAO .38 special for almost 5 years and I'd take that trigger any day over the P250.

I'm very comfortable with my 250, however, much more accurate with my PPQ especially at longer ranges. The Q just doesn't feel as forgiving for CC.

What aspect of the P250 trigger bothered you?

It's been a long time since I owned one, as I remember was long pull, long reset, didn't like the break.
Admittedly, I owned a West German P226 at the same time as well, which I loved,. I think part of my dislike for the P250 was because it was so dissimilar from the P226.
It's been a decade since I've fired one, own a S&W SD9 now, I'd be interested in trying the P250 again for comparison.

I just bought two new ones. First was a 9mm compact followed by a full size .45. Love the triggers, even better than my P290RS's trigger.

Quick on-topic question . . . The front sight of the P250 is "normal", right? Meaning, any P-series front sight will slide into the dovetail...

Yes, I still have my subcompact 9 mm SIG P250. I bought it for occasional IWB carry. I am much more comfortable with a hammer-fired pistol for IWB carry rather than a striker-fired pistol.

Every hammer-fired DAO pistol I have shot has had a long trigger pull and a long reset. They pretty much have to have a long trigger pull since the hammer must be cocked against the force of the mainspring which does not get pre-tensioned in any way by the slide. If the trigger pull weight is not to be insanely high, the trigger pull must be long to provide mechanical advantage.

Having said that, I would prefer the P250 if the trigger broke just a trifle further forward even at the expense of a somewhat heavier pull weight. This is partly due to my hand size which is above average for an adult male.

I still have a 9mm Compact but admit I never really liked the trigger very much. Smooth but looooong pull. I guess I did not shoot it enough to get comfortable with the long double action. It seems quite functional if you can get used to the double action trigger.

I prefer my Beretta 92S. In single action mode it is much more pleasurable for me to shoot. If a round is chambered it has a decocker -and I can always cock the hammer to skip the double action trigger if I want to. Either way it is very reliable.

Have you investigated the possibility of using a trigger shoe to position your finger slightly forward?
