C&R Bayonets

Anyone collect Bayonets to go with their C&R long arms? I was able to photo a few this weekend. I had to make a make shift photography studio at me parents so the photos aren’t the best.

No I don’t know they exact model of the Bayonets so I will tell you what arm they were purchased to be put on.

For the Swedish Mauser M/96

No AR but two Bayonets for one.

For either a Grande or 1903A3

Chilean Mauser M/95
Mauser K98k

very nice! I have a Mauser 98k, and was thinking of getting a bayo for it. can you recommend a good source? TIA.

All mine that will accept a bayonet, have one. Not always true in the past. I was more interested in spending the money on ammo instead of a dull old toadstabber, for some of the guns. You can spend almost as much on the Japanese bayonet as you can on a run of the mill 99 rifle, for some reason. Cheeze, it is not like they are Samurai bayonets or something. Not rare. Why do people spend 100$ (in some cases) for a brown Japanese bayonet? I did get one for a Krag in the family once, that was pretty steep too. But rarer than the Japanese.

I wish I could, but K31 bayonets are rarer than hen's teeth. They were numbered to the rifle and were often kept by the original soldier. There's a few in the US, but they tend to go for several hundred bucks. There's no real way of knowing what happened to the bayonet that belonged with my rifle.

As for my SKS, it's permanently affixed, so no worried there.

If a rifle is equipped to hold a bayonet, I like to have one, just to "complete" the thing.

I'm still missing a few for rifles with lugs, the K31 model comes to mind. But I do love to collect them.

I think it is an interesting addition to any older rifle. I have collected the bayos and correct slings for all of my milsurps. It's much harder to do these days.

You should stash that collection in the kitchen cutlery drawer, then ask an unsuspecting visitor to bring you a steak knife!
