Where do you like to carry your weapon?

I carry my XD .40 Subcompact usually in my front. I have a Galco IWB holster. For me, it feels like the best place to keep it without it being noticed through clothing. I would rather carry it somewhere near my back, I think. Will I be able to fix this problem with a better holster and belt? Also, I am looking to invest in a shoulder holster being that I will be wearing coats quite a bit now because of the snow coming. What is recommended in this department?

I wear mine at 3:30 position. I don't like "appendix" carry, because when you sit down, you've got the muzzle of the pistol right in your crotch.

Most of the time I use a Galco Miami Classic, but on occasion I use a Galco IWB for both my 1911 and FN-Five Seven

Glock 21SF in an MTAC at about 2:55 or so, just barely in front of the hip. Makes for a very timely draw.

Glock 19 in a Blade-Tec paddle on the right side.
P3AT in a pocket holster in the front left pocket.
Glock 17+2 mag (19 rounds) and a light in a paddle on the left side.

Lots of looking around.

Depends on what I am doing, out and about usually 4 oclock summer IWB,rest of the year OWB. Riding or drivng or sitting most of the day crossdraw, and out in the woods 3 oclock OWB.

If I'm just running arrends around town I honestly like to carry freestyle without a holster. That way I can carry in front and when I'm sitting down I can switch and put it behind me. Course I'm gonna have to change this soon as I will be moving back to the states soon and won't beagle to wave my gun around whenever I want

I carry my XD45 as my primary piggybacked over my 220DAK. j-frame on ankle. Off duty/undercover the DAK is either in a SH or a fanny pack

I carry about 95% of the time. Winter I carry a Smith J Frame (model 37) in an ankle holster and in the summer a Colt Pony in a pocket holster

Most of my handguns are carried in some type of open top OWB holster just behind my right hip (most commonly a Kramer or El Paso). The exception to this is my Colt Cobra which is carried in a Galco pocket holster in either my right front pant pocket or inside jacket pocket.

I generally carry my Ultra CDP in a Don Hume JIT slide at 3:00 + or - an hour, depending on dress. Ultra comfortable for me and very inexpensive. P32 in Uncle Mike's size 1 in right back pocket, always.

Glock 26 (subcompact 9mm) in a tuckable IWB holster, appendix carry.

Because I have a short torso and a typical female hourglass shape, appendix carry is the only way I personally can carry concealed on the belt. Every other position for concealed holsters just does not work and is not comfortable. (Women have curves -- guns do not. It's a losing combination.) By moving the holster to the front, the gun rides comfortably without digging into my ribs or hip. As a bonus, I can easily draw with either hand and it's much easier to defend from a grab. And with the tuckable holster, it's easily concealed under ordinary women's clothing.

On the range (when I must demonstrate for classes), I use a dropped and offset holster from Blade Tech, which is very comfortable and works well because it kicks the butt of the gun out away from my body despite the hip curve. But that holster won't be concealed with anything less than an oversized parka that reaches to my knees!

Full size 1911 most of the time, . . . prefer my shoulder holster, . . . often wear either an OWB or IWB (both open top, of course).

I am going to make myself a paddle holster, . . . used to have one, . . . traded it off, . . . it is really great to just grab it, stuff it, and go.

All three hip holsters ride at about 3:30, . . . just behind the hip point so it cannot be seen by anyone standing directly in front of me.

May God bless,
Dwight

IWB at 7:30 - 8:00. I make my own holsters, so I don't have a recommendation for comercial ones. If you see me with my pants on, I am armed. If you see with my pants off, you had better be smilin'.
