Does it get any better?

Fantastic issue... Just fantastic.
Every article is brilliant, the photos are great, and Brent's article...
He is talking about the main reasons I stopped teaching classes.
The NBC article - Bravo.
The best thing in the issue... Page 7. I was going to post a question about that in General... Kidding.

Only thing I did not enjoy was the page 7 add. It was really nice getting rid of all the cheesy sex ads in the back but now we have a full sized add right up front.

I know the mag has to make money advertizing but hey, can't you find anything else to fill the slot?????????

The Page 7 Ad:
They approached our Production Director and asked if they could advertise. They allowed us to edit copy. I made the call.

The ad stays, as long as they want it. It's hardly a "sex ad". It's hardly distasteful. It's no more insulting to me than an ad for a "miracle" workout product. I may not buy it, but I'm not going to dictate who sees it. IOW, I may have standards, but I'm not a prude! This is not an ad for Hot Latino Women Waiting Just Across the Border....as were those we cut.

Lighten up guys. There's many out there who are interested in that type of stuff....just ask Bob Dole.

Rich, since you made the call I can hardly argue with it. Guess at 40 I'm still way to young to even be thinking about taking something like that

With all the strides the mag has taken it just sort of set me back seeing that full page add.

Oh well, it's still a excellent mag and I'll keep lusting over (almost) every page.

Now if you could just do a article on Strider knives (wink, wink)

We'll take your suggestions in stride, Joey.

All,

The magazine will get better as we develop and perfect our work flow. The smoother we work, the more attention we can pay to details. We've already made some neat changes and more are coming.

American Rifleman has been running the same or a very similiar ad lately. Let's face it a segment of the readership must fit the demographics that the advertiser wants to reach.

You could look at it this way, it's a wake up call to bring younger people into the shooting sports.

Ads!

Frankly. I think the ad on age 49 is much more interesting. Swat team action figures, what next!

I would love to get this figure as a present for a couple of family members, but I don't think they really make them.

Oleg's article was one of the best gun reviews I have seen, no BS just the facts.

I had my misgivings about this mag, but I it is starting to grow on me.

As I said in another thread "It's the best issue I've seen yet."

I liked Brent Wheat's article. I'm glad he didn't use my name directly as the "bad student."

I really liked Tiger McKee's article on Thunder Ranch. I am not so sure about him putting the pictures of me on pages 45-47!

My family was sure impressed though.

By the way, Tiger is a great guy.
