Convert Taurus 72 to 62?
I want a model 62 in stainless, but can't find any for under $800. The model 72, chambered in .22 mag, is more common and affordable. I understand the land diameter of the .22 mag rifling is smaller but the groove diameter larger, and that therefore accuracy may suffer. (?)
Does anyone know if shortening the breech end and rechambering would suffice for this, or are there other things related to cartridge length to deal with? Is this doable?, or worth doing I guess is the proper question. Thanks, HisSoldier.
