Brake or linear comp on ar pistol?

Have two upper at pistol uppers,one in 556 and other in 7.62x39.
Thinking of changing out birdcage to a three port brake or a linear comp on both. Right now both cycle fine. Thinking that it may help with follow-up shots one of the two. But then I think as short of a barrel as they are is there really that much gas to cause any issues. Have not shot either one all that much. I understand how each one works just wondering if it's worth it. Or should I save the brakes for the rifles?the linear comp, does help with sound but increases gas pressure to the bolt for shorter barrels. What's your thought. They are more used for double tap and sometimes intermittent rapid fire at a shorter range.

"double tap" with a 5.56 or 7.62??
I wouldn't put anything on the front that "enhances" the muzzle blast.

If you want recoil reduction, put a brake on it.
If you want sound/blast reduction, put a linear compensator on it.

If you want both, get a suppressor.

I put a linear comp on my 12” barreled .308, replacing the factory flash hider/brake. It made a big difference for the shooter and bystanders redirecting all that blast forward away from the shooter.

Linear on a 7.5" 6.8 pistol was surprisingly mellow and did good at directing sound downrange
