Archangel Mosin Nagant Stock
They came out at the Shot Show in Las Vegas. They add a magazine set up to the rifle. They come with a 5 rounder but 10 rounders are available. It should retail around $200. Looks to be a cool mod to your Nag. I just wonder if they fit carbines as well.

that's the problem with shot show... everything that debuts there takes a few months to hit the retail market. nobody owns them yet. you'll probably have to wait to see any user reviews.

Weird that I seen this, I was just thinking the other day how cool it would be to have a detachable mag for my Mosin. How hard do you think it is to modify the Mosin for detachable mags?

If it comes with a 10-round mag, I'm buying one!

I'm willing to bet that magazine is a 54r Vepr Magazine.

I'm sorry that stock to me is just wrong. I like to detachable magazine idea but if I had to use the stick no way I'll stick with striper clips.

You would have to be crazy!
A detachable magazine on a Mosin Nagant? What! I would never ever never ever put a detachable magazine on a Nagant...unless it had a laser too.

Problem is it's an entirely different receiver than the MN, and Tapco doesn't give much in the way of specifics on the system. I'm inclined to believe that the magazine is mated to the stock somehow, and not the receiver- and feed the rounds up into the receiver. It's the only way to get it to work (possibly) without machining mods to the receiver. All other bottom-metal mods, like CDI's, mount to the receiver. Can't do that with the Mosin. Call me a skeptic on reliability. I'll believe it when I see it work flawlessly; but my bet is it will be many months (like the Mini chassis at the Shot Show a couple of years ago) before it actually hits the shelves. |

Got an email about this from a Online auction site I get newsletters from. Looks like this could be the new poor mans marksman longe range rifle. I am a bit skeptical about the mag though also. They say that the stock and magazine do not perminatly alter any of the rifle. So I image they just have you punch out the floor plate and have an extra long spring. Imgonna get a bent bolt and slap a scope and one of these stocks on. I'll have the ugliest sniper rifle ever!
