Pistol grip vs. Regular stock

Which do you prefer for a defensive or tactical shotgun?

1 Standard stock
2 Only pistol grip
3 Stock with pistol grip

What would you pick and why?

I like a standard stock on my shotguns. I have shot pistol grips, and did not care for them. I can't shoot worth squat with them and they hurt. I never saw the need for a pistol grip hanging down from the stock either. If I have to fire it from the hip, I can do so with the standard stock. The standard stock makes a better club if you have to resort to clubbing.

Eventhough I have synthetic stocks on my HD shotguns, I believe that the argument for wood has merit. What is the argument for wood? It looks less evil in front of a Grand Jury.

YMMV

I see no need for a pistol gripped stock on a shotgun. I think the people that have them only like them because they look "mean". They have no advantage over a regular stock but they do have some disadvantages.

I've shot all 3 and like the feel of the pistol/full combo..I'd never go with just a pistol grip. I just don't like the feel of it..IMO the pistol/full combo has better control than the standard..if i need to club someone after firing 8 shots of 12 gauge 00 bucks/slug then I need to kiss my azz goodbye cuz I bit more than I could chew.
