Good lookin' piece there, USSR. Those grip adapters with a K frame Magna set of stocks have always fit me to a T, better in fact than most any after market set I've tried. Rod

Very few get "issue" pistols in the IDF, but I ran a local armory at the time. We had a bunch of older pistols in-stock at the time and I liked the Radom best. It was very reliable and super accurate, so it became my carry gun, both off and on duty. Sure wish I had kept that one!

One of my longest carry guns was a Colt Cobra 1st Issue which I wore in an ankle holster. It was as light as a feather and I carried it from 2002 to 2007 every day. About 2007 when I found out what it was worth I sold it and bought a DS.

I’ve got a ‘72 Hipower that gets carried occasionally.

My next oldest that gets carried is a ‘97 Kimber 1911.

That's new...

A good number of the guns I've carried over the years were made before World War II.

Occasionally I've even carried a gun made before the Spanish American War.

Colt 1903 in .32acp or SW M37 in .38 sw. Reliable 100 %. Sort of a couple originals. I own a Baby Browning in .25acp but would not carry it.

With one exception all of my firearms were made before 1990. I have no worries about any of them working properly.

Personal Preference Alert:

I like OLD when it comes to rifles... but prefer NEW when it comes to pistols. I regularly hunt with some older classic Winchesters and Marlins and such, and I really like them.

But when it comes to pistols, I've tried some of the older stuff and they just don't do it for me. It's a bit like when I've driven some old cars: just don't like 'em and find myself appreciating what my (modern) car brings to the table.

Occasionally, a 1932 Colt Commercial 1911 that previously served some decades of duty with the Buenos Ares Capital Police.

The finish is worn but it otherwise runs and shoots great. It conveys an Old School Colt feel about it. Pre-war, but it has the 'A1' modifications.

I’m a 1972 model. I have a 1972 Corvette. We were landing on the moon that year. Newer Corvettes are faster and you see them more often but NOTHING blows the hair back like a C3 cruising down the road. They don’t make things as good as they used to. This goes for Guns too. I’d much rather put my life in the hands of a, say, a 1954 Colt 45 1911 then a brand new Glock anything.

My daily drivers are a 57 Belair, a 67 Mustang, and a 70 F100. New cars just don't do it for me.

I have three handguns from 1915-16: Military and Police, Hand Ejector, and Mauser 1914. I don't carry them, but I could. They all work just fine.

My EDC has been the Colt series 70 1911A1 I bought new in 1978. It is very reliable and is a trusted old friend.

My EDC is a former NYPD S&W 469 made in 1984, out of maybe 700+ rounds after I bought it one FTF and one FTE which I blame on a mecgar magazine.
