I store all my handguns and long guns in the socks. My safe is jammed and the socks protects the guns from scratches and nicks. Have worked very well for me.

The silicone lasts for just so long, the guns are wiped down with a RIG rag before going into the sock.

Mine are / were silicon impregnated. Even so, I always wipe the guns down with a silicone rag before casing them in the gun socks.

Absolutely use the socks - as mentioned above - they help with nicks and dings if nothing else. I use them, three dessicants and a golden rod here in humid FL to keep rust from forming - so far, so good

Thank you for the replies, I will be using them too.
I have seen the ones for rifles and shotguns but not for hand guns. |

Great stuff for moving guns around as they prevent scratches. I don't like them for long term storage. The silicon eventually gives out.

I have been using Bore Stores for a while and really like them. The are silicone impregnated, fully padded and much easier to get the gun into and out of than a typical sock. http://www.borestores.com/index.php
