Mossberg Over-and-Under
Looking for some feedback on a Mossberg Silver Reserve Over-Under. I have a chance to purchase a new one for 470$. Are they worth the money? Any input good or bad would be appreciated.

I've only read about them in the gun rags but everthing I've read was praise.

You might try Shotgun World forums for info. Lots of problems, not a very good gun.

"not very good guns" seems to be the consensus with over/unders that are meant to bring value to the customer.
Look at Stoeger firearms and the ones in question Mossberg. In this category of weaponry I truly feel you get what you pay for. I guess it's all preference though. Mossberg does a good pump action shotgun business, great value, I owned an 835 ultimag.. .great gun but with 3.5" #4 from Remington it kicked like a mule. Not my cup of tea. Especially not my skinny friends. I'm saving up for an Autoloader, it will be much nicer. Look to greener pastures, besides some wood on Mossbergs tends to look 'fake'. I owned a synthetic gun.

Any 3 1/2" chambered shotgun is going to kick as hard as that 835 with that load. The Silver Reserve isn't made by Mossberg. It is imported.
