How big is your "arsenal?
Okay, I'm guessing some will not want to answer this in as much as this is a public forum. So, if you are comfortable responding . . .
How big is your "arsenal?" I have 11 long guns and 9 hand guns. I have more guns in 22LR than any other caliber. If I had kept every gun I've ever owned it would be 42 . . . but there would be a lot of safe queens. Life is good. Prof Young |

I had 5 complete rifles, two ar pistols, a few spare uppers, two shotguns and three traditional handguns. Some hunting knives and a K-Bar half sword (not sure of the term). Not much compared to some people .... but the ammunition, I had so much ammunition, I can't even guess the amount.
But, I lost them all when my boat sank. |

Short answer is not big enough.
Long answer is 10 long guns and 12 handguns and the numbers are climbing still. |

I don't manufacture guns, I just store them so really more of a modest armory.

How big is my arsenal
Well don't know for sure. At least 50 long guns. Maybe 12 shotguns and at least 30 handguns. It's not owning that many it's feeding them.

I'm not a collector or even a consider guns a "hobby". My guns are tools... some of them support other hobbies, but the guns themselves I consider more of a means to an end.
I have a few AR's, a .22lr bolt-gun trainer, a .22lr semi-auto rifle for teaching and fun, a semi-auto shotgun for HD and field work, a G19 for EVERYTHING, and a Ruger SR22 for teaching and fun. I've had plenty more guns in the past, but found that 5 different rifles for deer, hogs, critters, coyotes, and such just didn't make sense... so I've got a really nice top-notch AR15 lower receiver with different uppers for different jobs. I got rid of my centerfire bolt-guns and AR10 because they just didn't get used anymore. If I ever hunt anything bigger than white-tail where 6.8spc isn't enough, I'll probably build an AR10 in .338Federal. Some day I might want a backup CC gun and I'll grab a small Smith .38spl. For now... my half-dozen'ish tools fill all current needs. We won't get into how much ammo I have on hand... that would require a spreadsheet and keeping it hid from the wife! |

I used to have a very modest collection by TFL standards. Unfortunately like rickyrick all my guns were lost in a tragic boating accident. That's my answer and I'm sticking to it!
Seriously though, how many, what variety, and how much ammo is a private matter in my view. While the interweb is often thought of as anonymous, it often is not. I may be a little paranoid, but I can live with that.

I have a few handguns ranging from .22 to .44 Magnum which I purchased new. I have a few shotguns including an inherited Winchester Model 1897 12 gauge. I have a few rifles including an inherited Winchester Model 1892 .25-20. I don't really have an arsenal, but my firearms (with the exception of home defense firearms) are in an expensive safe in an expensive tornado-proof safe room.

I have never heard of a .25-20. Seems like everytime I log in here, I end up doing google searches and learning something. As far as numbers of guns, i am under 50. |

I guess I'm more of a minimalist. I don't need much more than what I have now. But my "arsenal" used to be between 15 and 20.

I'm down to 2.5.
A 30-30, a 20 gauge, and an AR lower. I had to sell the rest to pay bills. If I ever get back on my feet financially, I will add a couple of 9mm handguns, a complete AR and an upper for the lower I have, plus a .22 rifle and pistol. I don't need very many to cover what I would like as a minimum. Sent from my LGLS755 using Tapatalk |

About 460 pounds, not counting accessories or ammunition.

If you have more than 2 and a box of ammo, the news will call it an arsenal, anyway....
Besides, haven't you heard, its not the size of your arsenal that mattes, its what you do with it!!!

The last time I took a good look around my garage, I'd say I'm up to 1 lever action grease gun with a floppy hose, 2 caulking guns, and 2 staple guns. I know I bought a pop rivet gun, but danged if I can find it. Oh, and my wife has at least 2 hot glue guns.

"Not enough" should be the only answer.

19 total: 10 rifles, 2 shotguns and 7 pistols. I like having multiple calibers, so all of them are: 7mm-08, 300 WinMag, 30-30, .308, 5.56 (x3), 300 Blackout, 7.62x39, .22 (x2), 12 gauge (x2), .380, 9mm (x2), .40, .45, and .357
And the collection is still growing! |
