My iron-sighted, steel-cased 1.6 MOA AK

We had a breezy day today on the east coast of Florida but I managed to put together my best group yet with my Lancaster AK using the stock (open) iron sights and Herter's (Tula) 122 gr. FMJ steel cased ammo. The range officer was kind enough to let me use (once again) a front sight adjustment tool and it seems to be pretty well lined up now. The target is a 1-5/8" black square, about the smallest I can see clearly at 100 yards.

The RO's reaction to this target was "That rifle's a keeper!". I've modified it a bit by replacing the stock wood with an adjustable Tapco buttstock, Tapco handguards, an M16-style flash hider (not shown in the picture below) and a Hogue pistol grip. I'm hoping with more practice I can get the group size even smaller. This was only my 4th or 5th time out with the rifle, maybe 300 rounds total.

wow

Thats really impressive. And speaks well of the Tula ammo also.

The AR type stock an an AK didn't work for me, no cheek weld.

Thanks, it does well for me, maybe I've just got a big, fat head.
