Production date for 552

I've got a Remington speedmaster 552 that I'm curious about so any help would be appreciated. If I understand correctly the date code is on the left side of the barrel. The numbers are J D P 5. It has the 23.5 inch barrel. Don't even remember why I bought it just found it in the closet hiding in the corner. Many thanks to anyone who can help.

Here is what the Remington Society says, but I have seldom seen a code work out according to those charts. Good luck decoding.
