Powder measure adjustment - 550B
Anyone have a tip for adjusting the powder measure without having to use a socket or the wrench every time ?
Any cool ideas for a bigger or different type knob ? I have seen the MRDial, and while I think is a great idea - 24 bucks seems a LOT on the high side. What do you use ? Thanks BigSlick |

I used to just use my fingers on the bolt head. I picked up some plastic knobs at the the hardware store, about 29 cents and it presses right on the bolt head. I got mine at a little mom&pop True Value.

This is a place that makes a dial that goes into the bar. It's a bit spendy but worth a look at. |

I use two Dillon wrenches taped together, since the jaws are a little weak when tightening or loosening the larger die nuts, and they'll bend over time if you use just one. Sometimes you can't get in all the way (you have to get into tight places), and you end up using just the tips of the jaws. It's a 7 way wrench that will handle anything on the 550B you'd need to do. Maybe they've even improved the strength by now--I've had mine for years. To just tweak it a little one way or the other, I use my fingers, but i'ts not easy.
I have to say that I like HSmith's idea--I'll remember it next time I'm at True Value. |
