Glocks are now 600-650 here in central Florida.

Sig P250 that was 850 two weeks ago (same Sig) is now a cool grand.

Ammo has gone up 5-10 bucks a box and 45 ACP is un-possible to find.

I'm glad to see that sniper rifles are still available.

OK, there seemsto be sporadic but growing signs that pistol mag insanity is hitting GB. Example: a pair of S&W 59-series 15rd mags just sold for.... $98!?!

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=322114901

Great googly moogly! 5 years ago, a local gun show vendor was selling boxes full of admittedly somewhat beat-up LE surplus 59-series mags for $15/ea! 3 months ago, it would have been unusual for these to exceed $25-$30/ea.

Sounds like they got a deal if a high cap ban goes through. $60 each for civilian high cap pistol mags was pretty common during the last ban.

Our local Walmart is out of almost everything. Other gun stores seem to have increased their prices on what little is remaining. Have not looked at local reloading supplies.

I went out to 3 different stores today to see the situation for myself. No AR's or AK's anywhere. Gun racks all half empty or more. One store's sizable handgun display case was only about 25% full. Ammo shelves were even more barren, with mainly expensive hunting rounds left. No small rifle or small pistol primers anywhere, large rifle and large pistol primers still available. Some powder available.

Quite sad to see. I think I'm going to have to put competitions on hold until ammo and components are more available, and end up shooting mainly .22lr for the next 2-3 months.

Since I'm back in SA for a week I decided to check out the bass pro, same as Glenn noticed, no EBRs, their wall rack was prolly 40% empty, tons of black powder guns in their section. Shotguns and bolts were still readily available, to me the ammo shelves didn't look as bad as those same shelves looked 4 years ago, now there is still ammo of various calibers, 4 years ago it reminded me of what the water shelves look like at a grocery store when a hurricane is on the horizon.

I went to a gun show in houston saturday. The gun prices have gone up, the ammo prices have gone up and the crowds were like a cattle herd.

There was an ammo dealer there who had WWB value pack 100 rnd 9mm for FIFTY FIVE dollars. I just bought four of those at wallymart for $22.98 a piece.

God i hope people arent stupid enough to buy from gougers like that. Probably will be a while before i go to another GS.

There is a local gun shop here that has 6 ARs, several hundred .223 mags, and several (maybe 30 or 40) cases of .223 ammo. The price tag on the AR's start at $2,500 up to $3,000. These are guns that were priced at $925 - $975 a month ago. He will not sell the mags or ammo unless you buy an AR.

I've known the guy for several years and told him he is cutting his own throat because the shortage will end and he has ****** off a lot his regular customers including me and when the supply catches up with demand he will loose out.

Decided to stop by Academy again as I was out. I wanted to see if they had a Buckmark magazine as I wanted one independent of the crisis of infinite proposed bans.

Surprisingly, they had three on the selves and there was good deal of Pro-mag 380 mags for various pocket guns.

The black shotguns were still there but of all things, the crossbows were sold out (Huh?).

No 22 LR, 9mm or 223. Still 40 and 45 ACP around with some 38.

The semi handguns were going. The clerk said they had 130 and are down to about 20. Lots of Taurus.

I stopped by Gander Mountain in Lake Mary 2days ago to check out their inventory. Surprisingly they still had 9mm and 22lr ammo at normal prices although stock was looking thin. No 223 ammo of course. They had bulk boxes of 9mm, 380, and 45ACP available too.

They did have a couple of AR15's on the shelf along with all the hunting rifles and shotguns. I was suprised to see them not gouging too much. IIRC the AR15 on the shelf was $1400 and Glock handguns were their typical $550-and up retail prices.

Went to 4 Walmarts nearby and the only ammo they had at all was a few boxes of 40s and some .380s. Even the shotgun shells were gone and they almost always have plenty of those. Only a handful of rifles on display.

Where: Academy Sports

When: 8am, Jan 3 2013

About 10 guys waiting outside the store for it to open.

I walk up, guys joking around. One guy tells me he's last in line. (They didn't have a line, so I laughed).

I've never seen a bunch of middle aged guys walk so fast.

We make it to the sporting goods dept, the shelves have some 223 ammo, 9mm, 22LR and the usual other stuff too. There was a pallet of assorted calibers as well.

Guys proceed to move directly to the Monarch 223 ammo. It's wiped out within 5 minutes. They had "Independence" brand 556 ammo, is this good stuff? No one was buying it.

I get what I came for, check out, ditch the stuff in my vehicle then come back to see how the rest of the crowd is doing.

Guys filling shopping carts with CASES of ammo (7.62x39) and other assorted stuff, even cases of 223 tracers.

The 22LR wasn't moving, so that must be more of a casual buyer item.

It wasn't a buying frenzy but people were there to buy, some were there to buy a lot of ammo. People were civil just some frustration with how 223 went so quickly.

I was just happy to see the shelves full of ammo, even if it was briefly.

Will probably go back this evening and see what crumbs are left.

Was in a LGS yesterday, they had a SKS, country of origin unknown, wasn't a Yugo though, for $975. Did have a folding stock on it though.

A Bass Pro Shop I visited yesterday had a modest supply of handgun ammunition except 9mm - there were five 25 round boxes of Rem. Golden Saber 147 grain jacketed HP on the shelf. That was it. I did not inquire about 9mm ammunition sales or supply.

I dont get it. If there will never be any more .223 available who will shoot what they have. Save it for what a zombie apocalypse or revolt give me a break. If the government says turn them in you will or you are going to the pokey. Where is the fun in having 20000 rounds of 22lr and scared to shoot it. What ever I got a nib windham weaponry ar with pmags and if some guy offers the right price its otta here.

Stopped at my favorite LGS to get some work done on a revolver. So asking around, they were sold out of ARs quickly. They got three in this morning and they were base models. They uses to sell for 1K but now for 1.4K due to a distributor increase. Had lots of Glocks in the LEO case for that market.

Joint was jumping on a Thurs afternoon. Stopped at WalMart for grub - ammo swept clean except for some birdshot and 44 mag. Bolt action rifles for guns.

01/02/13--Big LGS in IL had a lot fewer handguns on display. Usually the shelves in the showcases are full, now there's some empty spaces in most of them. Semi-auto handgun counters were the busiest. Lots of people at the counters for a Wednesday afternoon. I'd hate to be there on the weekend.

They still had plenty of Federal and Winchester 22lr in stock. Lots of 45 and even some .223, though I didn't check the price. The Federal 22lr 525 box was $22.99, about two dollars more than usual. I also saw very nice Yugo SKS rifles for $500.00 each.

Stopped at MC Sports and they had ammo in several different calibers but no scary black rifles. I bought $20 worth of .22lr since I found $20 at the store yesterday.
