How does the bolt number match, if it's the incorrect bolt?
Sorry 'bout the questions...Guess I just need to spend some time on the net and get familiar with these variations.

Not the bolt from the bolt action, the crossbolt going through the stock wrist.

So given the incorrect stock, is this a "pass"...or, if "correct" stocks are available, should I make an (discounted) offer- or keep looking? Like I said- the bore, looked brand new...so I wouldn't expect headspace/throat erosion issues.

You can find Mk2 stocks, they are about on e-bay & so on. However they may need a bit of custom fitting to mate to the action safely & accurately. If everything else is GTG then I'd make a reduced counter offer by the price going for a No4 Mk2 stock.
