The next thing you know, states will be issuing "black powder smoke medical cards" . . . . that will put the whacky tobacco places out of business!

Just don't add it to your whiskey or your food.

Who makes it?
And what is the bore like?

If you don't have a Bore light, one of the keychain AAA mini maglites will JUST FIT down the bore of a .50

Try to talk him down closer to $100.

Especially if it is an off brand, or the bore has issues..

Pawn shops (most of them) won't even touch a traditionl muzzleloader unless they can get it super cheap..

Oh and the first thing you do when you go to look at it, Is drop the ramrod down the barrel, mark the end of the muzzle with your thumb and compare length.
If it is shorter than the nipple area by at least an inch, its loaded..

3 out of 5 I get offered ARE STILL LOADED!

Keep us posted..

I m digging the blue steel hardware.
And the checkering on the wrist.
But not the shotgun recoil pad, and the rust on the barrel.

Investarms are pretty good except for the rear sights. I'd prefer the Hawken style without the rubber butt but it should be a good shooter if the bore is good.

if he would come down to $100 ish, and promises the bore is good.

I would pack the family and make a day trip.

Go visit some place the wife or girlfriend would want to go.
Have a lunch, walk in the park.
Look at the rifle, make a decision.

Then mosey back towards the house.

You are happy with your new gun, she had a good time.
Life is good.

(If she ain't happy, nobody is happy)
