Mailbox overflowing with notifications
In my settings, I have "Use 'Email Notification' by default?" set to "NO", and whenever I post, I make sure I have "Email notification" unchecked, but I keep getting notifications for every thread I subscribe to! Does anyone else have this problem, or know how to fix it?
Thanks |

Subscribing to a thread will override the general settings in your options profile. You need to unsubscribe to any threads when you want to stop being notified.

Well, thanks for pointing that out. I guess I can just add an e-mail filter to block the notifications then.
Fine choice of board software though; very usable compared to most others I've seen. |

Ok, you've got me confused. You don't want to unsubscribe and would rather block the emails which you don't want to receive?

Turn off the notifications and ease the load on the server. Unless you want a notification.
Notifications are great for 'sleeper' threads you want to keep informed on, but not for 'hot topics', in my experience. |

I use subscribe to keep track of the threads I'm watching, instead of copying the addresses of the threads to a notepad file or bookmarking them and constantly editing my bookmarks. It's just that if I have a list of updated threads in my control panel, I don't need to be told again when I go to check my mail.
I've seen similar boards that have a "favorite" thread option, which do the same thing, but only send mail if told to. |
