Don't know about the 97 but the materials, fit and finish on the 870 copy was better than on the Remington original. The bolt cycling was a little rougher but sights were better, metal trigger guard had no sharp edges and it had no built-in lock.
Unfortunately, the shape did not work right for me, else I would have been tempted to pick it up...but the gun tended to roll in my hands during mounting. If the 97 is as well-made, then it wouldbe a keeper. |
