The most perfect gun all around, in weight, capacity, reliability, ease of use, accuracy, and carry ability has been the Glock23, gen 4. Absolutely incredible gun. My Sig 229 Extreme is gaining ground, though a bit large for carry, and my Smith 686 is right there with the Sig. I am lucky to have a nice collection of excellent handguns, and while it may not be the most expensive or best looking, the G23 is my version of the perfect all around gun, without question.

I know I will get some crap for saying this but I have a Desert Eagle in 357 magnum and 44 magnum (1 gun 2 different barrels) I think for hunting the 44 magnum would do well and for self defense I believe the 357 magnum has a great reputation.

In 1970 I went to boot camp in Orlando FL...

Yes the Navy

First time I ever shot the 1911

Is it perfect... no

So there is no perfect HG but

The question is

Is there a HG that is fit for your purpose?

And

Can you shoot it

And if both answers are yes it may be perfect for the occasion

I did find the perfect woman but not the perfect gun
If you found the perfect woman, you are among the 1/10 of one percent. Consider yourself blessed beyond all measure.

And make sure you tell her so on a fairly regular basis.

As far as guns go, many of us find something we like for a certain time..and then find something we like better. This pattern can repeat itself any number of times.

Doing so with guns is infinitely less expensive (in all manner) than doing so with women.

If you have found the perfect woman, you have accomplished the most difficult and important task in life (and one that most of us never will) and you can now spend the rest of your life looking for the perfect gun...and be a happy man.

I am happy for you.

Best, Rich
