Bipod on a long Barreled Revolver?

I have a Ruger Super Redhawk in 44 magnum that use to have a 9 1/2" barrel. Now due to the recently added Mag-Na-Brake the barrel is now 11 1/2" long. A bit of a handful for one or two handed shooting. I'm considering mounting a Harris Bipod. Has anyone had experience with this? The only way to make a Harris Bipod attach to a round barrel is their #4 adapter which has 2+ inches to the height of the program. I'm currently having my son (a machinist by trade) looking at shortening this distance to where the bipod mounts just underneath the barrel itself. Any thoughts? Smithy.

The bipod attachment might change the point of impact of the bullet.
Just something to consider and might require re-sighting in.

Gun Smithy:

Its not wise to attach a bi-pod to a revolver barrel. Mounting s bi-pod opens groups and give eratic accurach.

Not a revolver, but it does work and quite well. Had an attachment lug added to the bottom of the barrel so it can be easily removed. Have never experienced it changing the point of impact. It steady's the gun so well that I have frequently taken 200 yard plus shots hunting Mulies, Antelope, and Whitetails.

I went to the range last week with a hot loaded 32 S&W long, and put a towel over the shooting bag to protect if from muzzle blast.

This is a hostile environment.
