TFL problems

Before anyone asks, yes, I'm aware TFL was just down. It looks like a DoS attack, about 25mbit/s worth. I don't know if glocktalk was a target too, but it's in the same colo and the whole subnet was affected.

There's nothing wrong with the site itself.

Think it's some sort of coordinated attack? THR, TFL, AR15.com...

This thread is for TFL. THR has its own thread. Assuming you mean THR...

At one point last night, THR, TFL and GlockTalk were all down at once.

TFL would not even resolve to an IP. (Trying to ping it returned an error--no such host or some such.)

THR wouldn't respond to pings.

GlockTalk would respond to a ping every once in awhile but mostly not.

http://glocktalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=701285

There was a thread on AR15.com indicating that they were down briefly (the thread wasn't specific as to the duration of the outage) last night and I read a thread on the Beretta Forum that alleged Combat Carry (whatever that is) was also down.

JohnKSa,

The DDoS attacks came from somewhere, can your system admins or service providers review some logs to see where the problem originated?

Unknown if this is related, but it would be interesting to see if the IP addresses were of foreign origins as discovered in this week's DDoS attacks on Estonia.
