Custom AR-15 Magazine: USMC Colors

All,

I saw this article about dying Magpul PMAGs:
http://gunmagwarehouse.com/blog/ritdye_Sand_Pmags/

And was just looking at my magazines one day when it sorta hit me: coloring the "ridge" along the back of a PMAG would make for a nice accent.

I couldn't quite get the colors to match, but here it is -- my Magpul PMAG dressed up in US Marine Corps colors:

I kept the baseplate/Ranger plate as is to match the color of our dress shoes, I dyed the magazine itself to match the color of our dress blue trousers, and I painted the "ridge" of the PMAG to approximate our "blood stripe":

I know, call me a motard -- but I thought it a nice departure from the same ol' black AR15 mag.

S/F,

I thinks its pretty cool. A little mo-tarded... but I was the same once upon a time and probably would still be if I were still in.
