WARREN, Ohio — A Warren man was shot twice Sunday night — thanks to his oven.

Every now and then something comes along that is worth sharing. Keeping gun safety in mind and with a touch of humor this is worth a read:

WARREN, Ohio — A Warren man was shot twice Sunday night — thanks to his oven.

The segment just ran on the evening news and the actual police interview was much more humorous than reading the story. Especially where the oven initially tried to blame the refrigerator.

Lol. It's a bad day when your appliances turn against you!

That feller from Warren, OH- now he's the guy we need to recruit to come here on TLF and give us his firsthand opinion on how effective his choice of caliber and bullet selection was. He may not be up to typing much, but surely he's got himself an opinion by now.

Inexpensive gun safes are easy to get.

Yeah. This story is floating around the forums. Well, we all know who's getting his week's Darwin Award.

One night back in the 1970s, I got a call of a shooting at a rural residence. Seems a guy and his wife decided to have an intimate evening and lit a couple candles and put them on the dresser in the bedroom. Later after some mutual physical exertion, they fell asleep. Meanwhile, the candles burned down and set the top of the dresser on fire, causing some loose 30.30 rounds to set off. They immediately sat up in bed, and the wife was smacked right in the middle of her chest, directly between her breasts with a bullet that broke the skin. She was shook up, and there was a very small amount of blood, but it actually only needed a bandaid. The medics has a good laugh once they figured out she was not terribly injured. I turned to her and her husband as I left and said "She's really special, getting shot in the chest with a 30.30 rifle round and didn't even go to the hospital". By that time, she saw the humor in it, the husband was still shook up. Life goes on . . . . .

"A Warren man was shot twice Sunday night — thanks to his oven."

It wasn't "thanks to his oven",,,
It was thanks to his own stupidity.

He said he was hiding it from kids,,,
So yeah, put it in a drawer that's down on a kids level.
