One for the freezer

Got Bambi this morning, but I know where his dad is and hope to get him tomorrow. BTW: That's the 870 that a few folks here at TFL helped me restore (one way or another).

I can't really tell from the picture...but it looks like that deer was shot in the face. Am I seeing that right?

No, I snuck up and used a garrote. Actually he was shot on the other side in the heart lung area. He just ended up nose down when loaded in the Rodeo. The marks on the neck resulted from a ride on the front of a quadrunner.
