Re-blue / Hard Chrome ?
I have a remmington o/u 3200 Trap special that after 20 years of storage shows some minor rust spots on the reciever and trigger guard. Can anyone recommend a place to have the reciever re-blued or hard chromed ?? I always liked the look of blue barrels on a chromed reciever. Any info is appreciated.

On something as valuable as a 3200 I would only trust Tripp Research to hardchrome it. They can handle doing the barrel blueing as well. I too really like the chrome/nickel reciever and deep blued barrels.

Thanks for the info. Just sent Tripp Research an E mail.
Wildalaska ?What's "APW"? Don't mind my ignorance...I'm just blowing some rust out of the barrels.

I emailed Tripps a few days ago about hard chroming a shotgun. They replied that their tanks aren't large enough to do long guns. Has anyone ever had a long gun refinished there?

If you just want the reciver chromed Tripp can handle that with ease. When I made my suggestion I was under the impression you wanted the barrels blued....

Tripp Research e-mailed me back and informed me that they are only set up to do handguns.I'm pretty sure they know that i only want the reciever done.
They suggested that I look for a plating company in Florida, but did not suggest any specific shop. Any Suggestions???

After much "sighing" I found Accurate Plating & Weaponry Inc. aka APW.
Thanks for the lead.
