Browning scopes

A friend of mine recently fell into a good deal on a used rifle. He may resell the rifle, but is likely to keep the Browning scope that was on it. He's looking for info about Browning scopes. This one is a 3-9X40. It doesn't seem to have a model name or number on it.
What can you tell me about these scopes? Quality? Who made them for Browning? Approximate value?
Thanks.

I've had a couple FN Browning rifles that came with "Browning" 'scopes. One of these 'scopes was made by Redfield, the other by Burris. Other makers may very well have made 'scopes for Browning that were marked with the Browning name.

Quality? I'd look at the 'scope in question. It will either fill your friends needs and expectations or it won't.
