Kenyan Mall Attack - Armed Former Royal Marine is Hero

The UK Daily Mail is reporting that a former Royal Marine, while armed with a handgun, saved as many as a hundred hostages in the Kenyan mall terrorist attack. The report says the former Marine was having coffee at the mall when the terrorist attack occurred and made several trips back into the mall to bring out those inside the mall. The Mail does not identify the man for "security reasons" and heavily hints he is involved in either UK or private security. Story at: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...-ran-amok.html.

The story doesn't say whether he used his handgun but it does help illustrate what a single person can do when armed. The gun had to help empower the former marine, as did his training. I doubt we'll ever see this story in the mainstream press in the U.S. because it doesn't fit the anti-gun agenda they have.

I read a report on him. I'll agree that what he did was heroic, but I don't see how it in any way "help[s] illustrate what a single person can do when armed." There is no indication that he even drew his handgun, let alone that he fired it. He could just as easily have done what he did unarmed.

I also don't see how this relates to "Law & Civil Rights."

We've no way of knowing that.

This whole situation is a terrible tragedy, but it is an act of foreign terrorism that won't likely have any effect on our civil rights.
