I am beginning the shooting season and interested in buying a large quantity (10,000+) of 230 fmj 45 cal bullets. A friend is going to split them with me. Any suggestions on where to buy?? Freight can be a large concern due to the obvious weight of the lead. midway includes freight but, what do you guys think??

I use the widener's IMI bullets, and I love them. a bit cheaper (shipping is included in the price), a bit nicer looking, and for me, a bit more accurate. I must say that I like pretty bullets, 'cause they make pretty rounds. I LIKE pretty rounds.....

Keep your eye on Midway USA. They have a truckload special and from time to time sell .45 ACP FMJs for like $80 and change a thousand delivered to your door. Regards, Mikey.

45acp,
Try Star Ammunition Inc. 5520 Rock Hampton Ct., Indianapolis, IN 46268 I can't find their phone number right now. Their fmj's I believe are under $60 per thousand. A to Z Reloading, also out of Indy, carries Star's bullets.

Must they be FMJ? If not look into southwest bullet co. i believe they are selling
230 fmj (plated) for @ $46.00 a thousand. They perform well and are very shiny and pretty, if that is what you are looking for.

I'll second Midway. I've been using their bulk Winchester and Remington bullets for years. No complaints of any kind.

If you have a gun show near you, try to establish a contact with a person selling the components.......We use to order and the guy coming to the show would transport them and we would pick them up their. Now ive never done this but Ive heard of people going to their state line and purchasing bulletts from an out of state seller who would meet them, in order to save on transporting and taxes....dont know if it was worth it or not....fubsy.
