SKS Origin Questions

Hi, I have an SKS that I purchased as part of an estate, and I am NOT an SKS expert. I have spent some time researching online, but would like to fact-check the conclusions I have drawn on this rifle. Here's what I gleaned from the various websites:

Russian made SKS rifle, with no import markings. Receiver is marked on the side with a star, indicating USSR manufacture. Barrel seems to be chrome-lined, which means the rifle dates Post-1951. Based upon the cover-latch design on the left of the firearm, this appears to be a DDR (East German) rifle.

Here are some photos. I will take additional photos - just ask me where to shoot the pictures. Thanks in advance. I am brand new to this forum, and appreciate the help.

Russian Tula (star) made with CAI import marks on barrel per photo 1933. Stamped star on side means 1955/56 mfg... then there were no more as they started making AK47s... so you might have a late one there.

Izhevsk mfg have no star but a triangle inside a circle w/ arrow IIRC.

Look up Yooper John for SKS info.

ETA... welcome to TFL Craig

Thanks for the info, and the welcome. My primary specialty is WWII German collectibles and firearms (I'm a dealer), but I get a lot of stuff outside my area of expertise, and really respect and appreciate the expertise that I am able to find on forums like this. Thanks again!!
