How do I get started doing 3 Gun events?

I have been shooting for years, but never been in a competition. I would like to try 3 gun...but what do I need to know before I get started and how do I locate a course? I am near Latrobe, PA. I will be using my M4A1, Mossberg 590 pump and Ruger 9mm. Also some videos of how a 3 gun run goes would be helpful. I'd also be interested in trying some tactical courses or urban training courses, etc...

First you need to find a club try http://www.uspsa8.org/clubs.htm
Didn't look too close but looks like you got 2 clubs that do 3 gun Castlewood and Pardoe. I would call the match directors and get more info. There may be other clubs closer to you doing 3 gun and these guys will know that too.

Personally if you have not done any match shooting it might be a lot easier to start with pistol only uspsa or idpa.

Here is a ton of Info from our local club wen page

If you just open this link, our 3 Gun page describes most of the gear and some of the rules, this is not an IPSC sanctioned 3 Gun but pretty close and much more fun since you use all 3 in one long stage of fire with several parts each requiring one or two of the 3 Guns.

There are also photo's fropm previous matchjes posted there to give previews of the targetery.
The clays on the ground are there to simulate a minefield, step on opne and it adds 20 seconds to your time, step on 2 and you're dead, DQ'd that is.
