Renting Full Autos
How can I find a range that rents full autos?? I have looked for countless hours on the net, and have only found 1 place.

Post on the NFA discussion forum in Subguns.com.
Also where are you looking to rent? I know a few ranges that do. On the net, check out scottsdalegunclub.com.

Small Arms Review has ads from FA dealers, and sometimes carries articles on ranges that rent full auto guns. I don't recall any on ranges in Colorado, but the magazine did cover a shoot in the state a couple of issues ago.
Take at look at www.smallarmsreview.com and see what they have listed in the index.

The article mentioned from SAR above was in the May 2002 issue. Information on the Rocky Mountain Gun Owners .50 Caliber Rifle & Machine Gun Shoot can be found at http://www.rmfcsa.org/.
Anotherr possibility, if you don't mind some travel, would be the Northern Arizona Machine Gun Shoot. According to SAR the contact information is Dry Creek Inc. P.O. Box 12403 Scottsdale AZ 85267 (480)948-0175 (602) 279-9150 |

Guncraft Sports in Knoxville, TN has a couple of MP-5's, a Colt 9mm and a few others that slip my mind.
Bull's Eye Gun Shop in Lawrenceville, GA has a pretty good selection. One of the best was The Bullet Stop on Sandtown Road in Marietta, GA; but, alas, they are no longer among the living. |

I must be lucky. Bullseye in Lawrenceville is 10 mins from my house. There's also an indoor range called The Firing Lane in Athens that has a pretty good assortment. It's about 30-40 mins away. Cutting loose with a MP5 is great stress relief after finals!

I live in NM
We have a range here in Albuquerque called "Calibers", located right off the freeway (at I-25 and Paseo Del Norte). They just started renting full-autos once a month, I think it's on the 2nd Sunday of every month, but I'm not certain. Selection is kinda small, I rented an E. German AKM (which was a blast) and they also had an MP5, a .380 MAC (M12 I think), A Sten mk.II, and one more subgun I can't remember. It was a tad expensive, but worth it IMO.

If you want to head over to the other side of the mountains, we have two here by Salt Lake that I know of. Totally Awesome Guns in West Valley City, and Rangemasters in Springville.

Glock35-
I think that Dragonman's in Pueblo, Colorado rents full-auto weapons. I've never been there myself, but it might be worth a look. Last edited by Justin; September 22, 2002 at 02:57 AM. |

Las Vegas used to have three or four. I know of two for sure right now, but there may be more.

If we ever get a range open, we should have a bunch of stuff to rent here in Tidewater.
As far as I know, nobody around here rents NFA stuff. Rick@The Armory

Hey Rock, Dominion in Richmond will be adding a few soon. They are doing a group purchase of Vector Uzi's for that purpose and will add from there as practical.

If you talk to Terri really nice she may rent you one, if not they have shoots several times a year where the shooters on the line will rent out. A very good selection is usually there, including my Uzi. Also, have you tried The Firing Line in Aurora yet? Karl. |

Colorado Springs renter & Range
There is a great class 3 dealer with an outdoor range who rents his collection for use, but expect to pay hefty prices where ever you go! Also nice class 3, prebans and post ban rifles for sale. Got my HK91 and MAADI AK-47 from him.
Dragon Arms 1200 Dragonman Dr Colorado Springs, CO. 80929 Phone.: 719 683-2200 I shot here many times and used them for class3 transfers. Mapquest (may need to cut and past these.) 1. http://mq-mapgend.websys.aol.com/mqm...6%40%24:%26a2: a little closer view http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp...fneFTsO4yEE%3d |

They don't just let people walk in off the street anytime and shoot their guns. And I may be poor sighted but I'm far from blind, and last time I looked Terri was a she. |

You are right, Terri is the class 3 SOT and FFL holder, and she is a women, and pleasing to the eye at that; but most people who go there think Mel must be the man with the power.
I was there my second time and fired one of their in stock M-16s. This was in 1999, so not to long ago. Left ID and old Military ID with him, bought the ammo from him and paid $100 for the hour. He used to advertise machinegun rentals in 1998-2000 when I lived in the area. Things may have changed in the last 20 months. Doc |

That was in my pre-pubescent gun days. Now I just buy the damn things.
Except up here in MN where they have to be C&R. Only several dozen m-16/ar-15 that qualify or that, and only a couple of MP5's in MN that can be legally transfered to individuals. There is a range here in Northern suburbs of Minneapolis (Armoured Fire) that rents full autos as well for about that same price. Doc |

It seems to depend a little on timing and attitude though, both your attitude as well as theirs at the moment. I would tell someone to call ahead at the number you gave to make sure the time they want to shoot is OK. You're also right about most people thinking Mel is the 'man' in charge, but I've been around there enough to know when Terri makes a decision you know she's in charge of the gun stuff and Mel runs the machine shop. Karl. |
