Central Maine (Near Bangor) Outdoor Shooting Locations?

New to shooting recently purchased a Ruger Single Six .22/.22Mag, and would like to start Plinking/Target Shooting. Looking for a gravel pit or any outdoor area to shoot. any suggestions/advice are also welcome.

I think there is a range in Augusta. And I think I went out and checked one out in Scarborough before. The one in Scarborough was nice but I think it's a private range.

we used to shoot in a pit just past the Old Town trading post, on the benoch rd. not sure if it is still allowed.
There's the Blue Hill rod & gun club
I think there's one in Hampden, they shoot trap, not sure about a pistol range.
Ask at Van Raymond's or Old Town Trading Post, they will have more info

The range at the Capitol City Rifle and Pistol Club is excellent. A bit of a hike for you but they also have an indoor range which is good this time of year. You do have to be a member or a guest of a member.

Check with your local shops and see. Good chance they'd be the ones knowing the shooting spots up there.
