Fiocchi 40 grain vmax 204 ammo question.

hey guys im new here, G'day from down under.

Im a very new 204 owner (T/C venture 22 inch sporter 1-10" twist)

I have found that this rifle is very accurate with Fiocchi 40 grain ammo, but there is a little problem, sometimes the brass has slightly raised primers. My only concern is the ammo is too hot and or dangerous.

Anyone else had a similar experience or chronied the ammo?

Following as I just bought a TC Dimensions barrel in 204 Ruger & found that ammo at a deal.

I believe you will find the brass is oversized (too short) for the chamber. I had similar issues in my Savage FV12, and that was my primary issue. Once I reloaded the brass a couple times, no issues with the GFL brass. I tried pulling some ammo to get the brass and move on but I could not get the bullets to budge with a kinetic puller (hammer) after numerous strikes so I gave up on that idea. On the few I was able to pull, the powder charges were a bit inconsistent.

Fiocchi loads to CIP spec not SAAMI. TC makes chambers to SAAMI spec.
Midway says the MV is 4125 FPS out of a 26" barrel.
Nobody publishes pressure figures. SAAMI MAP is 58,000 PSI though. CIP is 59,000 PSI.
Might be an idea to rummage around here.

Old tech new tech, face shooting will nearly always take the wrong doing out of a bad guy.
