Mag Tube Clamps for 870s

What are some of the best mag tube clamps available? This would be to fit a TacStar/Wilson mag tube. They don't have a recess like the Remington extended mag tubes do.

Preferably one that doesn't spread the tube and barrel apart as you tighten the screw.

You can use the factory Remington clamp on a after market tube extension with a side sling swivel adapter screw. I have some.

Thanks, but that is the type design that can spread the mag tube and barrel apart. I'm looking for something else. I thought I saw a machined one somewhere, although don't know anything about how well it would hold up.

The real deal here is with the wilson/Scattergun tech extension there is no real need to stiffen the tube extension. If you are looking for a sling mount there is a very well made Wilson/SC tech sling mount that attaches behind the barrel nut, a much cleaner and stiffer mounting position. Just a thought.

The best for the money is the Remington factory model, and Uncle Mike's make a very close copy that will work with most extensions.

Thanks for the info. Does anyone know where the Remington extended mag tubes and clamps can be purchased? (I also thought the Rem clamp itself was heavier duty than the one pictured above?)

By the way, what is the best spring to use with the Remington extended tube? I'm not sure what length spring that one takes.

Like most extension kits, the Remington factory comes with the longer spring.

The Remington factory clamp is a different design then the above pictured Choate-type clamp.
It's in the form of a shaped "U" that wraps around the extension and barrel.
The screw that holds it on also passes through a groove in the extension to prevent it from sliding forward.

Finding the Remington factory extension is a little difficult.
The best way is to find a gun dealer who will special order one for you from a factory Law Enforcement distributor.
