40 S&W Glock 35 reloading

I've been trying to get a decent power factor for my Glock 35. I've been loading 4.5 grains Red Dot powder with a 180gr FMJ Xtreme bullet WSP primers and haven't been able to get the power factor down below 165. I'd like to keep from puting different springs and such in the Glock. I'm also a little afraid to drop down to 4.0 grains of Red Dot or lower to achieve a 145 or lower power factor. If I didn't have 1500 180gr bullets I just go with 150gr bullet. Anyone have any suggestions?

I build plinker loads for Wifeys G-27 using 4.0gr of Red-Dot with a 180grFMJ. It shoots Soft,I have not ran this load over my Chrono but I would guess by feel (horrible way to measure) that they would be similar to my plinkers of 3.8gr of Unique under a 180gr Lead bullet that chrono's at 745fps avg. *Very soft for a .40 with a stock spring*

Man That was a HUGE run-on sentence.....

Thanks for the help. I see your logic. When I get the nerve I'll fire a couple of rounds at maybe 4.3gr Red Dot and back down watching the results on the Chronograph and how well the work they action. I'll let you know... if your interested.
