Shooting both eyes open

I noticed at the action shoot that I was shooting alot with only one eye open. As I feel this is a bad thing, save for some sharpshooting excersises. With pistol, shotgun, and short range(under 100 yds sound right?) rifle work, I'd like to be able to shoot both eyes open. Anyone know good excersises to do this?

I just found it natural to skip using the sights on my k38... I don't normally use them unless I get out past 30 yards or so. Same goes for my Super Blackhawk. Though, with a rifle, I can't for the life of me do that.

I am luck to be a natural point shooter. I generally shoot a pistol with the bore about 3-4 inches below eye level. I would rather see my target than see my sights. I already know what my sights look like. I shoot a shotgun with my head up off the stock. When quail hunting, it makes tracking the little missiles so much easier. I have never been able to shoot a scoped rifle with both eyes open no matter how much I tried. It was just too distracting. I rarely shoot with iron sights, but when I do, at the moment of truth I close one eye. The goal with a rifle is pin point accuracy.

I've used and taught point shooting for years. There are times when the sights are to be used and times when training in point shooting is the ticket. I just finished Gregg's book on point shooting. Good read.
