Why can't I find Federal brass?
I've been reloading .45 ACP for about three years (~20K rounds). I started with range pickup brass and have been recycling/adding since then. I really like the Federal brass - partly just because of the really cool deeply incised headstamp. But I can't find an online source that sells new Federal brass. Am I doomed to recycle the Federal range pickups I find? Or does someone sell new Federal brass for .45? Or maybe a source of once-fired Federal brass?
JAF P.S. Yes, I have discovered Starline, and I am really happy with their brass for those special loads. But I still think the Federal brass is cool. |

There are many of us on this board that do heavy handloads, and wish to high heaven that you could get it new. But if you want it, you have to buy once-fired from a trusted source or make it once fired yourself. They don't sell it unloaded.
