Sack-ups for a shotgun?

I plan on storing my Benelli in a silicone lined "sack-up" long term. I'll still take it out from time to time, fire it, clean it, and oil it, but for everything in between it will be in a sack up.

Any problems with this?

Any experiences with the sack-ups, good or bad?

Anyone else do this?

Are Bore storz or sack-ups better?

I use the silicone socks to store my guns while they are in the safe. A little extra protection, not only from rust, but from dings and nicks while retrieving one from the safe

I just spray the inside of soft gun cases with silicone.
Never had a problem.
For handguns, wrapping them with a rag of tee shirt, sprayed down with silicone, seems to keep them rust free.

Protective cases; long term storage...

I've used a Bore-Store treated storage bag since around 1993 for my handguns.
There a few milspec & gun industry brands that can protect your firearm.
I'd add a light coat of Eezox, LPX or Weaponshield & inspect it from time to time.

See www.Brownells.com www.Deltaforce.com www.Natchezss.com www.Sportsmansguide.com .

i love the sack ups. You are good storing your gun in one for as long as you want. Put your gun in clean, and properly oiled and it's good for as long as you want to leave it in there.
