Anyone have, heard or know someone whose shot one? I mean it's kinda hard to mess up a single shot shotgun, but any issues that should make me worry too much to not buy it? I am interested in buying it for a toss in the truck or boat gun for those iffy situations we never hope happen. Price is sick, in a good way.... anyone?

They fail to mention the country of origin, if may be from Frigistan.

Many of the USSG firearms are from Russia, Serbia, and other Eastern European countries, as well as Turkey, workmanship and metallurgy are a bit rough. For $100, I can't imagine it is a high-quality shotgun, but if all you want is something to ride along with you and keep you company in the truck and make a rattling noise, it will work as well as a $1000 gun.

It's Russian... Baikal... The 12 ga. is 47.3"... That's long!... Weighs 9 lbs.

It is long...but I'd plan on cutting it down to minimum size that's legal just to stash away.

Rattling

I need a good rattle haha. Just curious is all...I'll probably end up buying a NEF single shot or a old used one that needs a little tlc but I like the synthetic stock idea and cheapness for the purpose I'd be using it for.

Here's a spec extract from the catalogue:

I find it interesting that the 12-ga and the short .410 are listed* with exactly the same weight. At 9-pounds, they seem to dispel the myth that all cheap single shots are lightweights.

*With the short .410's LOP listed at 1.5", I suspect they didn't proof-read the specs very well and I'd take them with a grain of sand.

Here my rattlling tool..! It was a donnation from a friend and I cut it to a short barrel with rifle sights, when broken down it fit on a 20" pouch to carry on ATV when fishing on remote area.... not allowed to pack a handgun
in our country! Now I have a choice of a 30/30 rifle ( old savage single shot scoped ) also cut down or this . 12 gauge new toy.!!

Think I'd go for a used H&R single. You should be able to find one @ $70.00 and it is a proven design.

Publius is right, they have the H&R on there for 110 and to me I would feel better owning it

If you're going for cheap and useable when you need it, I think you've got the right one.

But why not spend a little more for a double-barrelled coach gun? They have shorter barrels too, better for a truck gun.

Did I read that right? 3 1/2 chamber??? Ouch, I doubt it's 9lbs, maybe around the 6-7lbs mark unless you've got a VERY thick barrel.
